Your metabolism is the process your body goes through to extract the energy from the foods you consume. This helps you maintain a healthy lifestyle and assists in helping the cells in your body grow and reproduce. Some people find it easier to turn to supplements in orer to boost their metabolism, but we’ve done some research and come up with some natural ways to do it.
Eating a good amount of protein rich foods means you are burning calories much faster. Amping up your diet with more proteins like lean meats and dairy products will improve your metabolism and make it faster!
Make sure you’re getting more than the recommended daily intake of water. Doctors recommend about 10 cups a day. Water stimulates the metabolism, you body uses energy to absorb the water you’ve just put in to it, and this in turn makes your metabolism speed up. Dehydration can make your metabolism slows down.
Keeping active can also play a big part in supporting your metabolism naturally. This doesn’t mean you have to perform a hard-core workout every day, but just make sure you’re getting in at least 30 minutes of physical activity. This could mean anything as simple as a walk. When doing physical activity, you are forcing your muscle to burn more energy which results in your metabolism speeding up.
During the deepest part of our sleep cycle known as REM sleep, our heart rate increases, and our brain activity is heightened. This results in the body burning more glucose, and this in turn leads to a higher metabolism. Try pushing your bedtime back an hour, and put some restrictions in place around screens after 6pm to ensure you’re getting the longest amount of REM sleep as possible.
